Below are graphs of my actual lab results for 4 major areas that help monitor Kidney function.  As you can see, the improvement accelerated in January of 2019 once I was on the full supplement strategy and my blood pressure was well under control.  I had also dropped my BMI from 38 to 35 during that time - it was easy to lose weight based on the diet.  I continued to work on my diet, though there have been extensive challenges along the way.  When I have relaxed my diet (allowing more protein, sugar, and other less kidney-friendly foods) my results have quickly lost gains - but going back onto a strict diet has allowed me to recover and continue to improve over time.

Key milestones:

  • Nov 2018 - Diagnosed while in the ICU with Stage 5.

  • Dec 2018 - Strict adherence to a renal diet.  Optimized nutrients with each new set of labs.

  • Feb 2019 - Reduced inflammation within kidneys and no longer leaked protein in my urine.  Strict low protein diet - difficult to maintain.

  • June 2019 - Extensive travel and relaxed renal diet with a focus on Keto. Increased protein.  Added eggs, cheese, yogurt, bread, and rice.

  • Oct 2019 - Added the probiotic Renadyl daily and increased daily fiber intake.

  • Nov & Dec 2019 - Very relaxed renal diet due to holidays and travel.  continued Renadyl and Fiber every day.

  • Jan 2020 - Completed the first 90 days of using Renadyl daily with a relaxed diet.  BUN nearly normalCreatinine Down.
