6. I Did things which could help or speed up my recovery
Doing helpful actives is important to my kidney disease treatment. I got 30 minutes of exercise 7 days a week. I added Intermittent fasting to my kidney disease treatment plan at stage 3 to give my kidneys some time to catch up.
7. I managed my weight
Make weight management part of your kidney disease treatment plan. At stage 3 I switched to a modified Kidney Friendly Keto diet.
8. I kept Stress at bay
It is not easy having a chronic disease and stress can build quickly – so managing stress is an important part of my kidney disease treatment plan. There are so many things to worry about and so many things keep happening around you to remind you that you are not healthy.
9. I love getting new labs
I learned to read and understand my labs – these show me how my kidney disease treatment plan is doing.
10. Keep Learning
I have learned everything I can about Chronic Kidney Disease – from reading books, to websites, to research documents, to talking to doctors and researchers all around the world. Knowledge truly is power and can help you maximize your kidney disease treatment plan!

Together, all of these 10 items are a key part of my Chronic Kidney Disease Treatment that has helped me to reduce my creatinine level, increase my GFR, improve my kidney function, and avoid dialysis. Treating kidney disease is still a challenging field for doctors, so please push your doctor to develop a Kidney Disease Treatment for you that best fits your kidneys condition and your lifestyle.
