Health Care and Chronic Kidney Disease - Tips to influence policy with Sara Bitter

Dadvice TV Episode 93: Health Care and Chronic Kidney Disease - Tips to influence policy with Sara Bitter. Health care, health-care, or healthcare is the maintenance or improvement of health via the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, recovery, or cure of disease, illness, injury, and other physical and mental impairments in people. Kidney Patients need cohesive health care coverage to cope with kidney disease and the cost of treatment. We all have to juggle the challenges of remaining healthy, getting treatment, and being able to afford to pay for our health care. Today we are going to talk about what you can do to help improve the lives of kidney patients when it comes to health care. This is not a political conversation with one side vs the other - but this is a policy conversation about doing what’s right.

Kidney patients face challenges with affordable health care, many are living with disabilities, and the struggle with depression and anxiety is all too common. It is important that we look at the candidates running for office and make certain we pick the ones who will represent our voices. I’m not talking about the upcoming presidential election - that one matters, but I really want to focus on the local elections…where we can have a larger voice and influence positive change.

Guest Sara Bitter shares tips and advice based on her extensive experience with health care - both from the policy side and the patient side. Learn more about Sara Bitter at
